Global Exergy and Carbon Database
The data presented in the exergy and carbon maps were collected from numerous sources and are stored in a relational database. Data are of three types:

  • Carriers - mediums through which exergy and/or carbon flow through the system.
  • Transformations - processes by which exergy and carbon are passed from one carrier to another.
  • Accumulations - stores of exergy and/or carbon, measured in units of joules and grams, respectively.
Detailed metadata are also included that provide a full description of the terms, citations of the reference sources of the data, and other parameters that may be pertinent to the data.
