GCEP Student Activities
GCEP Student Representatives help to organize events for GCEP graduate students and postdocs to interact and learn more about the Project's energy research.
If you are part of the Stanford energy research community and would like news about this summer's series, please contact sign-up for the mailing list.
GCEP Student Energy Lecture Series 2013
The 3rd annual GCEP Student Energy Lectures series took place this past summer (see flier below) and featured nearly a dozen GCEP graduate students and postdocs from Stanford and one from Carnegie Mellon University giving short presentations about their innovative research to an audience made up of Stanford energy community members.
GCEP Student Representatives—Di Wu, Ann Lesnefsky, Boxiao Li and Holly Sewell—hosted this summer series, which is designed to help students present their research effectively to a technically diverse audience.
Tutors from Stanford's Center for Teaching and Learning and audience members, provided feedback to the speakers. GCEP graduate students and postdocs from external institutions also submitted videos of their research presentations for judging by a GCEP panel.
The top speakers were selected by GCEP and honored at the GCEP Research Symposium (October 8 – 9, 2013) at Stanford and presented their talks at the conference.
