Arrillaga Alumni Center Stanford University The Global Climate and Energy Project (GCEP) held its fifth annual energy research symposium. The theme of the conference was "New Research Directions in a Rapidly Evolving Global Energy Landscape." Keynote speakers and leading researchers from Stanford and around the world discussed future directions and exciting opportunities that could lead to energy technologies with significantly reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The first day of the conference included keynote addresses and general sessions in which speakers discussed the need for innovative and transformative energy research in the current global environment. Technical leaders from GCEP and institutions from around the world also provided their perspectives on highlights and future directions for innovative energy research. Technical sessions on the second and third days included presentations by GCEP investigators highlighting the results of their research and poster sessions in which all GCEP investigators and their graduate students and post-docs provided details of their work.
